As part of the preparation for the pilot phase of the ENABLE Youth Program in Cote d’Ivoire, about twenty young people selected for the pilot phase of the project visited IITA for orientation exercise with the IITA Youth Agripreneurs.
The youth who were exposed to some of the technologies of IITA and the agribusiness enterprises of the IITA Youth Agripreneurs had the opportunity to also interact with some of the trained youths of IYA who have set up their independent agribusinesses.
The selected youth who prior to their visit had identified their areas of interest along the agricultural value chain also pitched their businesses ideas to the team for review.
Some of the business ideas were on poultry, cassava, potato, fish rice, mushroom, value addition of cocoa, maize aggregation etc.
